I now have a profile at the Rockworks Showcase (http://www.rockworksshowcase.us/randijoy), which is a charity site. Here's how it works. My songs are live for streaming and rating by listeners. If I am nominated by 100 people, I am eligible to enter a contest to play the CMJ 2006 showcase in New York City. To nominate me, go to http://www.rockworks.us/showcase, click "Sign up" and elect to donate $1 to rebuild the gulf coast. Then hopefully there will be a simple interface to nominate me, probably from my profile page. The money this site makes from its listeners is used to rebuild areas destroyed by natural disasters, sometimes in third world countries, and in this case the areas hit by Katrina. It is a cause I feel is worthwhile to participate in.
