Raggedy Angry
RAGGEDY ANGRY - Voted the most controversial band in Ontario by hundreds and hundreds of pissed off people. Love Us, Hate Us, Fuck You.
Band Goal: To Make Out with EVERYBODY!!!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Vocalist Irvin Scabtree and guitarist Press It came together out of boredom in small town Ontario somewhere back in 2005. They formed a band that would channel some of their pent up aggression and hostility but found that expressing their rage in the pompous and at times unsophisticated world of metal simply didnt seem satisfying.
For Scabtree, not having a band was a blessing in disguise because Raggedy Angry would be born of his unbridled penchant for brutally honest lyrics and bare bones beats. With guitarist, Press It, the duo known as Raggedy Angry is raw, immediate and proud to be disturbing. Mixing electronic, industrial, metal and hip hop, Raggedy Angry are the soundtrack to suburban frustration and their live performances become an apocalyptic display of blood and fruit loops its a surreal and horrific dance party that Scabtree has taken a few punches from audience members - literally - but hell hit back just as hard lyrically.
In a few short months, Raggedy Angry has taken the internet by storm racking over 30,000 hits on their myspace page and by June 2007, Raggedy Angry became the 42 Unsigned Industrial Band in the world, the 5 Unsigned Canadian Electro Band and the 3 Unsigned Canadian Experimental Band. Their debut CD, "Take Me, Break Me, Make Me Pretty" has received airplay on college radio across Canada charting from their native Hamilton to Newfoundland and thats just the beginning
As their popularity grows world wide, Raggedy Angry maintain their roots. Scabtree sums up the band by their audience when he says, "We make music for losers because that's what we are. Our fans are the loser kids standing alone at shows that everyone hates and no one talks to and thats who we are."
Music by the disenfranchised for the disenfranchised never goes out of style... "If music is a joke, says Scabtree, Raggedy Angry are the punch line!"
