In a scene filled with local bands emerging into the national spotlight, this emo/melodic rock band with hardcore influences entitled Quarter to Never was formed in a dreary Warwick, NY basement in December of 2001. After a few alterations to the lineup, this emo/melodic rock quintet finally felt a string of confidence in their playing and writing abilities, which obviously have improved since the earlier days.
Through playing local shows and constant promotion, QTN gained a following and were ready to hit the studio. The guys recorded a 4-song demo entitled Broken yet Beating which displayed a set of emotional lyrics about the everyday trials and tribulations of life, catchy guitar hooks as well as heart wrenching screams. The demos main single entitled Picture Perfect gained airplay on countless college radio stations throughout the east. After extensively touring the northeastern United States in the summer of 2003, QTN gained quite a substantial following, interest from independent labels, along with tight knit friendships with fans as well as other bands.
The final pieces of the band were put together when Matt and the band parted ways, both on good terms, and the band continued on as a 4-piece. With this final lineup, Quarter to Never has been busy recording new demos for their upcoming debut ep release on Cutthroat Amputee Records as well as booking as many shows as possible.
