"Pukey and the Vomets fits into a category of its own. This is not like that random shit that takes two genres and combines them, such as rap metal, or hardcore with ska breakdowns. Influenced by bands like At the Drive-In, Iron Maiden, The Blood Brothers, and more, Pukey and the Vomets combines the best elements from all of its influences into a fluent and smooth genre that can only be described as ."
- vocal noises
- funkadelic 4-string groove thang
- six string scream machine
- axe wielding treble terror
- skins, bongos, etc.
"Pukey and the Vomets is punk music with a bit of . very similar to an ice cream sundae. the ice cream is punk rock. the hot fudge is ska. The walnuts in the musical extravaganza are funk music. The sprinkles are reggae. the whipped cream is the blues, and the cherry on top is a touch of hxc."Band/artist history
: Live From Ryan's Room EP. 6 songs. recorded with a karaoke machine = crap quality.
: Regurgitator CD. Entire project got scrapped. Jack (the tech) fucked up the levels. Only a few CDs remain.
: Hooray for Family Values CD. First successful full-length CD. Mediocre quality. Eh, its ok given the resources. Copies are still in existence.
: Live at the Swing Pad. Available by request. Shitty quality due to th fact that it was recorded through a video camera, but it shows off new material and how much we kick ass.
: Full length CD. Recording will begin april most likely.
Pukey and the Vomets was started when we were all in middle school, (the name stuck). It was oringally composed of ian david, dave whyllie, elliot goldman, and someone else who i can't remember. These were dark days, which i cannot remember very well. But eventually Pukey came to be ian (bass), dave (drums), new guitarist Monkey Nelson, and singer charlie mikulich. But charlie would never come to practice, not that there was practicing going on. Dave was a horrible person with a mean spirit and all that would happen was that the three members would listen to Korn then go skateboarding. This didn't really appeal to Ian and Nelson, so they kicked Dave out. But not efore playing Nirvana songs at the 7th rgade Battle of the Bands. Charlie just quit, anyway. So the two remaining members set out to search for a new drummer and singer. They found a drummer in Sparkles, at that time known as Ryan Clark. He had extensive training in the field of percussion as the school band's triangle player. The singer they found in Joe Lazauskus, a buddhist friend. So the "new" Pukey and the Vomets was formed. They went on to play at the 8th grade Battle of the Bands and won becuse they were awesome, even though they suck in comparison to now. They recorded , a 6 song demo that really really sucked. But they sold copies of it anyway because they were good. In fall of 2002, they played a show at the Boogie Box in Secauces and developed a following of punks with blue mohawks. It was quite pleasing. Then they went to Ian's basement to record Regurgitator. But Jack fucked things up, and it was never really made. Later, in 2003, they attempted to record again, this time, succeeding, and creating . Around the same time, fellow band, The Guilty Parties, recorded their debut EP, entitled , which the most damn awesome piece of musical genius ever recorded. Over the summer of 2003, Pukey and the Vomets went on their famous "Bon Jovi Doesn't Have Shit on Us" tour, playing at the Hamilton Street Cafe4 and Bloomfield Ave Cafe one after another. Shortly after the summer, the Guilty Parties broke up, to the dismay of everyone, even the people who have never heard of them. At this time Pukey and the Vomets was looking to change their sound, so they took on the Guilty Parties' guitarist, Chodeface McGee. They practiced with this new guitarist until February of 2004. During this time Ian changed his name to El Redentor, and has also been known to be known as "Gangstopholes", and Chodeface McGee realized his face really doesn't look like a chode and became The Renegade. Joe is the only one who'se name has not changed since his birth. Pukey started playing shows again (their last was the tour) with the "Rock and Roll Picnic Revolution Tour" which consisted of playing with the band Love Athena in Nelson's garage, then playing with Love Athena, Fly Like Icarus, and Ne Faux Pas in the secret place known only as "the swing pad". Both mosh pits, though small, were energetic. A crappy CD, recorded by a video camera, can be purchased for only on request of the fabled night at the swing pad. For an extra dollar, the movie of the show can be purchased where you can see the mosh pit for yourself. The movie also has extra goodies such as the reuniting of the Guilty Parties during the show, and the subsequent moshing. With a new CD due to be recorded soon, and shows planned, the future is bright for Pukey and the Vomets.Have you performed in front of an audience?yes. after an 8 month hiatus, pukey and the vomets has returned to the stage with all new music (except one original favorite), a new second guitarist, and much more energy in february of 2004. the first appearence was a 2 day garage/basement, with lots of old school moshing involved. before the 8 month hiatus pukey and the vomets has played in clubs and venues around new jersey, as well as battles of the bands, and plans to do so again.
