Proph (US)
I rap under the name Proph which is a shortened version of "Prophet" which is my former alias. I started rapping 6 years ago but didn't record my first song until 2003. After a 2 year hiatus I have returned to the lab focused on making something happen with my music.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I do perform as an individual however I am just half of the Traq Teym... a duo made up of myself and Ka-Manchi.(www.prhymalrage.com)
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I have done one show to date... However I have several shows that I will be a part of in the next few monthes. I intend on performing more and more until I can be seen as a performer and not just an emcee.
Your musical influences
The reason I first decided to write a rap was Canibus' "Second Round Knockout". I was like "shit! he just smashed that man with some words"
So Canibus, Jay-z, Nas, Jadakiss, Beanie sigel, Joe budden, Rakim, Eminem, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and one of my major influences is Common. No diss but I was never a huge fan of B.I.G. or 2Pac.
