Prophet Productions was founded by me, Tha Prophet, back in 1996. I started it in hopes of one day making it a real production house. The legal aspect is still being taken care of, but soon it will become an actual legit company.
Band/artist history
I've been doing music for about ten years now, working in and around hip hop/rap as well as rock and alternative genres. I've been producing beats and songs for about as long as I've been writing and recording. I started out with a group, well two groups actually... The Tru Thugs and The Were Wolf Mob(W2M). Tru Thugs was my group that I started and a couple friends of mine started W2M. Later on everyone in my group left to join W2M, so it really came down to me being a solo artist. Since then I've been producing intrumentals and putting together my own works as well as working on projects for and with others. I still am very close to the Wolf Mob and do almost every project with them, but would rather be considered a seperate entity altogether.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I don't perform live, simply because I become annoyed by people very easily, like a mainstream artist that gets sick of his fans for all the constant attention and criticism, I get upset at so many people screaming at me rather than enjoying my music... so I just don't give them the chance to. If they want to hear me they can get the cd and leave me alone.
Your musical influences
I came up listening to stuff like 2Pac, Bone Thugs n Harmony, Twista, Tech N9ne, Crucial Conflict and various others. When it comes to making beats, I take my influence from artists like Timbaland, Dr. Dre, Kanye West, QDIII and many other great producers. And although I just described the type of music I'm inspired by, that's not the only type I listen to. I also listen to Linkin Park, Evanesence, 3 Doors Down and many other alternative/rock groups, as well as ol'school classics like Al Green, Percy Sledge and Millie Jackson.
