A mix of classic and modern rock with strong influences from R&B are the initial factors behind the melodic rock group, ProperDose. Coming onto the scene in late 2005, ProperDose began to quickly make a name for themselves with their Ep release entitled, Unleashed. Since it's debut, tracks such as "Slumber" and "Immortal" have become a steady request on Radio shows and at live performances. One thing is certain, ProperDose is in demand!
Band/artist history
Fairfield California based band, ProperDose, was founded by members Justin Depew & Saul Lopez in summer of 2000 with the goal of becoming one of the music industries premiere rock bands. Following graduation, the two began writing material and shaping what would become the sound of ProperDose. In the winter of 2002, EMT student and bassist Jamison Aguirrie joined the band and brought a much needed intensity to the group. With a strong set of songs and eagerness, the group set their sights on Live Oak Studio in Berkeley, CA. There they began work on they're debut Ep, Unleashed with plans to release independently in late 2005. During the recording process of Unleashed, the decision was made to find a permanent drummer. While attending the music academy in Los Angeles, David Grant was the last piece added to the group. "The guy flew from L.A. to Sac, bought damn near an entirely new drum set, drove 75 miles to our town (laughs), all to audition for our band!" Justin commented at an early 2005 interview. "Once we heard what he had to offer, it only made sense he was the right thing." Unleashed was released in the fall of 2005. Showcasing a deeper and more detailed side of the band, it quickly began to move itself into the hands of the public through sales at live shows and distribution with Dimple Records and Tower Records. Tracks such as "Slumber" and the self-reflecting "Immortal", struck a chord and found themselves a home on the Local Licks Radio Show on Sacramento's 98ROCK. "I never realized how much of a response we would get from Immortal." Saul said. "I was in the car on my way to Lake Tahoe for the weekend. I put in a cd to listening to a new track Justin recorded and the music just overwhelmed me. I started writing and it just kinda flowed out of me and before I knew it, there is was." With songs of anger, loss, pain and reflection, Unleashed struck a chord with audiences and brought ProperDose into the light of the public and nation. "The future is gonna be crazy. Get ready!" - ProperDose
