Angels Walk Among Us Angels Walk Among Us

A cold winter night, a group of best friends, and a horrific accident make for an intense song that tells a chilling story.

Five people. Five instruments. One mentality. The five-piece outfit from Toledo, OH called Promise of Tomorrow has one goal and one goal only; to show the world the music they create. With two crushing guitar players, rich bass tones, complex drum patterns, and a distinctive vocal style, Promise of Tomorrow will always leave the listener thoroughly satisfied, yet somehow still craving for more. Expanding into many different genres of music, it is safe to say that categorizing this band would be a difficult task. While listening to the array of inventive songs they play, it is evident that each member’s style and influences differ from the rest. Elements of funk, world music, and hip-hop styles are hidden within the songs. There’s only one category safe to put Promise of Tomorrow in: Music. While Promise of Tomorrow writes uplifting, positive songs with meaningful lyrics, they never forget that music is also for listening pleasure. The music is designed to send a message, yet at the same time gives off an entertaining vibe. The audience may vary from an adolescent who needs a positive influence to a full-grown adult who needs an inspirational tune. Either way, Promise of Tomorrow gets a lot out of making their music and hopes that others can gain something from it as well. As individuals, they are all very crazy guys who lack seriousness when it comes to personalities, but when it comes to the music...it's all business and they are ready to go. With loads of ambition, they won’t stop until they have been heard. Promise of Tomorrow will march forth in an effort to take it to the top. Who’s coming?
Band/artist history
We formed around September of 2002. Justin, Ed, and Ryan had been jamming for a while just trying to get something going for fun. Ryan decided to ask a long time family friend, Garrett, to do vocals. With that, we started an onslaught of shows and quickly became well known in our hometown. Just recently, we added second guitarist Jon Hammond. He really adds a whole new dimension to the band. We'll have recordings with him on it soon.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, and of course we love it. We play anywhere and everywhere we can. Some of our favorite moments were our shows with Hopesfall, The Beautiful Mistake, Glasseater, and The Early November.
Your musical influences
We definitely stay true to ourselves but our music could be compared to a mix of Hopesfall and Thrice, while our singing is similar to Taking Back Sunday or The Used.
What equipment do you use?
Kustom red and blue padded guitar amps, Ibanez guitars, Yamaha bass, and DW drums with Paiste cymbals.
Anything else?
Well, we happen to love you. We like toast. We seem to like riding on the backs of dragons during the summer-time.
