PROJECT AEON
PROJECT AEON is a fusion of many different styles and genres of music. PA incorporates Metal, Industrial, Techno/Dance, Rap and Hip Hop influences and other unknown ingredients into a style they like to call "CHROME." PA uses the term CHROME because their music style is like a polished," futuristic, Metal fusion. The current lineup for PA is as follows:
If you are looking for a carbon copy, cookie cutter band then PROJECT AEON is not what you are looking for. We are all about making music that inspires people to critically think and analyse what we see and do. We also want to show the world that you can play good, heavy music without representing all of the negative stereotypes associated with heavy music.
We hope you can find it in yourself to set aside all the steriotypes you have about "What music has to sound like." We can guarentee we will break all those "rules" and steriotypes. Real music comes from the heart and soul and has meaning. Music is an interpritation with endless possibilites. We don't make any excuses for our interpritation of music. If you are looking for a new sound and a new revolution..This is what you were waiting for!!!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Jay Grigsby formed PROJECT AEON in December 2004 after his 10-year tour of duty in the US Army. After his honorable service, he returned home to his hometown of Ann Arbor Michigan to begin working on his unique interpretation of music.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
PROJECT AEON has played several live venues in Michigan to include a Downsyndrom benifit concert (WEBFEST2007). As of now we are in the studio working on our Full length cd "Echoes Of the Fallen Empire" (E.O.F.E).
Your musical influences
I (Jay) am personally a very eclectic person. I can find something in most genres of music that I really, really enjoy. These are some of the artists I enjoy. Cocteau Twins, Ani Difranco, Threat Signal, India Ira, Sade, Madonna, Depech Mode, Iron Maiden, Opeth, Inflames...and the list goes on and on.
I also believe my experiences in the military have given me a greater perspective of what discipline really is. My lyrics are mostly inspired by all of the atrocities that I have seen in our world today. The thought that my musiccan maybe make a change inspires me to keep doing my part.
What equipment do you use?
We use: Pearl Drums, Line6, Ibanez Guitars, Dimarzio pickups, Roland FantomX6 Keyboards and 550 Keyboard amps, B52 Cabinets, Elixir strings, Digidesign Digi002 (Protools), Apple Imac, SKB cases,
Anything else?
