Process42 is a unique EBM/Industrial collaberation between Justin6.7, The Troll and Optik. Songs range from heavy electronic with speed and melodic metal guitars, to slow classical styled ambience, with beats ranging from stompy ultra heavy industrial, to controlled chaotic IDM, DnB, and breakbeats.

This widely diverse style range goes through the transitional flow of a concept album, different elements having different progressions, a series of build ups and break downs. Sections of harsh intensity, deconstructed and rebuilt classically with cold electronic ambience to set the mood into the next song. The songs can be considered like chapters in a book about life, experience, wisdom and insanity. A reflection of life through a borderline personality with vast extremes. Each song stands on it's own as a moment in the story, but the album explains everything to detail.


We had a fantastic review in the Real Detroit Weekly newspaper comparing us to Skinny Puppy, Aphex Twin, Suicide Commando, Apoptygma Berzerk, Neuroactive and Frontline Assembly.

Band/artist history

This project was conceived by Justin6.7, who began writing the words and music several years ago. He began creating electronic music in 1997 and has done vocals for TechniKILL and AfterBirth, electronics for 999 Gods, Dialisis and The Amazing Schwarzenegger, production/mixing work for several local bands, remixes for several major label artists, has three solo IDM/Power-Electronic/Trance/Techno albums as The Utopia Project, and does DJ sets as Justin6.7. 



The Troll has been playing guitar since 1991 and was previously in the bands Creepy Dean and Nurple. He strives to find new methods of doing more with less. His philosophy is that over complication is for the vain and uncreative. Layering effect after effect and crunching a bazillion notes into one bar only makes you look like a show off, not someone who is truthfully concerned with making a piece of art.



Optik has been involved with electronic hardware devices for about 7 years, and primarily uses Korg, Roland and Alesis workstations, keyboards and drum machines. He is also learning bass and guitar.

Have you performed in front of an audience?

We play shows mostly around the Detroit area. We did an afterparty for the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (FUSE:in 2005) which went extremely well, and we played a college fine arts theater for a Hurricane Katrina benefit show. Quite a few other shows at Tavern on the Park. We will be playing The I-Rock Nightclub December 8th, then booking shows at Mephisto's and The Labyrinth shortly after that.

Justin6.7's music and vocal influences are Skinny Puppy, Gravity Kills, Stabbing Westward, Leatherstrip, Assemblage 23, Velvet Acid Christ, Wumpscut, Icon of Coil, Chemlab, Frontline Assembly, BILE, Combichrist, Wolfsheim, Aphex Twin, William Orbit, The Kovenant, Pantera, Nine Inch Nails, Danny Elfman and Pink Floyd.. in a blender!



Troll's guitar style is influenced by the late Dimebag Darryl, Jerry Cantrell, Zakk Wyld, Dave Mustaine, and David Gilmore.

What equipment do you use?

We use a mix of live instruments and computers for our sound. Some of which are Korg, Roland and Alesis keyboards and drum machines, Washburn and B.C. Rich guitars, Laurel Basses, M-Audio mixers, Yahama and Boss effects pedals, Shure direct studio microphones, a classic Tube Amp and a Peavy practice amp for the guitars, FL Producer edition for sequencing, Native Instruments and Steinberg virtual studio instruments, ACID Pro for multitrack recording, and CoolEdit Pro for mastering.

Anything else?

Creating original sounds that defy the rules to standard electronic music. We listen to many many generas of music and incorporate different elements from each. Heavy keyboards, HiQ's, blips, beeps, glitches, rock and speed metal guitars, distorted or vocoded voices, sound effects. Mostly elements of EBM and industrial, clashed with metal and rock.

Lyrically, the songs are about different experiences in life that most people have been through at one point or another. Circumstances, situations, mistakes, things gone out of control.. things people can relate to and understand through storytelling.
