Priest Black. The one to head te new generation of hip hop artists. He's a man about art through gangsta rap who says not one word for no reason. He's been a lyricist since puberty and been a man of music forever. The production comes from Priest as well as the current engineering and song writing. All songs and beats are available for purchase through proper contact with Priest Black. All rights are reserved....copyright 2008
Band/artist history
Priest Black started as Dig Nasty back in his early highschool days, creating the rap establishment, Nasty Inc., which consisted of artists like Killa Kannon, Dasmee, Calib Big Boi and others. As the years grew, Nasty Inc. matured into Imperial City Records where Priest started to begin his production trade, making beats for himself and others in his group (Ace n Heist). After personal vendettas, I.C. Records broke down and brought Dig Nasty into TnT Productions. After this, his name grew into Judge Priest. Here, he made the most influential music of his whole career with producer T Baby (16 years of age), TnT CEO Trace Trahan and other TnT artists including Bottom Boys Clique, Green Team and other Tampa artists. Again, personal problems forced Priest to grow in other areas. The independent record label, AtO Records than picked up Priest Black to do a few things with their songs but after a few months, the business aspect of the relationship got cut short. After all the madness of dealing with so many establishments, it resulted in Liberty Squad Entertainment. Priest considers it a family name rather than the name of a music establishment. Now, partnering with his father's corporation (Black Family Enterprises), Liberty Squad Entertainment is on it's way to being the top music production team in today's hip hop society. We expect some promising things coming from Priest Black in 2008.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I've been known to enter any cypher that is made. I dare you to start a freestyle circle, you will see Priest if he's in the area no matter who is involved. I've been known to frequent Club Skye, 112, Empire and others in the Ybor City, FLA area.
Your musical influences
New York rappers like Nas and Mobb Deep took the credit for inspiring Priest to turn his poetry into hip hop lyrics. It became a habit. Producers like The Alchemist & DJ Premier influenced Priest also to dab into the beat making field in which he grown very fond of. 10 years of writing and 5 years of producing created a monster....
What equipment do you use?
You'll have to find that out for yourselves...
Anything else?
Priest is down for collaborations on all levels. He doesn't think he's better than the next person, never has and never will talk like he is. The music that he gives the world is self-enlightening and he does music in a way people can actually be interested and not lose attention....I give him 5 mics...
