Prideless Rebels

Prideless Rebels is a fairly diverse rock group, with each member taking their primary musical influence from a different area. PR firmly believes that they suck, and despite several claims to the contrary, do not agree. PR is comprised of- Ramsey Castillo - Guitar/Vocals Chris Boyd - Bass/Vocals Brian Hooper - Drums
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
PR started back in 2000, or so. The line-up at the time was Ramsey Castillo, Brian Hooper and Wes Sinclair. After playing a few small, non-paying shows, Wes got the band a gig at Java Jazz, where a lot of local bands from the area get started. Unfortunately, Wes was forced to leave band shortly before the show, and PR was left without a bassist (and a good friend). The next year, Brian and Ramsey gave in, and allowed Chris Boyd to sign on as the bassist. Dane Classen shortly joined the band as lead singer, but was forced to leave due to his job taking up too much time. PR played a few more shows, reaping very little profit, and in the summer of 2003, recorded their first album, Clean Restrooms. Due to general incompetence, the entire album was recorded on one track of a six-track recording device. Tensions were running high in the studio, and soon, the members turned to violence. The band broke up on less than amiable terms shortly after the album was completed. Brian was last seen passed out on a toilet after a massive tylenol overdose. Ramsey was seen running off into the Arabic Desert shouting about penguins, and Chris was seen break dancing outside a club in New York City where he was promptly shot. Okay, that part's not true, but we have to have the typical rock n' roll ending, right?
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
PR's had a few live performances, primarily at Java Jazz in Spring, Texas. It was a special moment when we got paid a whole $4.28 for our first show there. I don't know why we were allowed back so many times.
Your musical influences
Brian's influences- Drum style: Ramones style 'old school' punk and a lot of original style that I gained from not learning how to play other people's music before I wrote my own. Lyrical style: While none of my lyrics have made it into a completed song yet, the one's I've written are heavily influenced by Ben Folds Ramsey's influences- My influences come from all over the place. Pretty much any band/group/singer/songwriter I've ever experienced has influenced my music in some way. My main influence, however, has always been Green Day, but I'd like to think it doesn't particularly show. Chris's: hmmm...let's see. anyone who knows me knows that i worship metallica. so yeah. that's where most of my bass style comes from. not that big a deal. just bass. as for singing (which that is me most of time on the CD), pff, i dunno. i couldn't hear myself when i was recording, so i guess i was just singing. meh.
What equipment do you use?
Drums - CB base kit (with Remo heads), Sound Percussion hat and crash/ride, Sabian AAXplosion crash, ProMark sticks Guitar- Ramsey plays a Ibanez RG Series with a Floyd Rose, black quitar, various strings. He uses a Crate amplifier, which he loves very much.
Anything else?
Cheez wiz is a conspiracy!
