PotatoeBabies

Band Bio Preview: PotatoeBabies is the developmentally disabled brainchild of Reverend Charles Preston Smith, a unique and erratic Grand Rapids MI native known for taking his three-member creative vehicle up over the high side at nearly every show. The act’s rare crossbreed of rock music, comedy, performance art and Stupid Human Tricks has been leaving Michigan audiences dumbfounded, angry, and even vengeful for more than six years. It was in 2003 however that Rev Charles and wife, bassist Alana Eve, managed to stuff local Glam rock hero Mick Nasty into their disturbed fold. Nasty, the dearly departed guitarist/founder of GR’s The Nastys, now mans the throne as the PotatoeBabies drummer a position previously seconded in volatility only by Spinal Tap. Gung Ho to provide beats for Rev Charles act which routinely involves the wee-hour phoning of Rev Charles willfully estranged mega-abusive father from the stage Nasty made his live debut March 3rd 2004. The show also marked the first leg of a PotatoeBabies CD release marathon a logic defying project to release 10 original CDs (!!!) in 20 months.
