Me making good music and trying to stay creative.....simple as that.
Band/artist history
I have always had an ear for music, and had the ability to 'mimic' most things that I heard. I didn't start actually making music until like 2000. I started out using a Playstation and a software game to make beats on. Me and a friend of mine played it alot until we actually starting getting decent sounds coming out of it. Then when PS2 came out I got one and bought the newer version of the music software, then I REALLY began to realize that I was improving and making songs and not just beats. I started taking my whole setup to a local studio in Columbus, GA and getting my tracks put on cd. The owner of the studio (Robert "Jazzano" Carr) was really impressed with the tracks I was able to make on it, and even considered getting me to do production in his studio, but we couldn't find a way to sync my equipment with his. Eventually I moved from PS2 to PC, and began to use the very popular FL Studio(Fruity Loops), then eventually I acquired all of Sony's proffesional studio software (Acid, Sound Forge, etc). My sound has greatly changed and involved and I have had the oppurtunity to produce demo tracks in many different genres, from R&B, Pop to Reggeaton. I don't really have a style yet....still working on it. But I can say that my sound is creative and versatile. I love heavy percussion (congas, tablas, djembes etc) and I like to compose on the piano, so the majority of my newer tracks I can also play live. I also incorporate subtle live elements into most of my tracks. I love adding subtle guitar licks, live percussion or some chords off the keyboard. I also LOVE vintage analog keys, when mixed right they add real character to the music. I'm kind of a minimalist when it comes to equipment, ofcourse its great to have 20 keyboards and tons of outboard gear, but when you have a lot of equipment its really easy to get stuck in the 'process' of putting everything together instead of simply making music, so I try to use what I have until I have to be creative to get new sounds out of it. I don't use productions loops for compositions, the only premade loops I EVER would use, would be like maybe some 'shaks' or 'subtle hi hats'. In my opinion if you are just buying loop cd's and putting together premade compositions you are not a music producer, you are just a 'prolooper'. I'm really just getting started with this music, so don't snooze.........
