It all pretty much started in 2001 when I first jumped in a freestyle with a bunch of guys standing around. I surprised myself and everyone else around when I actually did it pretty decently. About 6 months after that, I started writing more and more. My senior year of high school, I found that a guy I had known for about 2 years but didn't really talk to all that much was actually in the hip hop business as a performer/writer/and producer. His name is "The Phantom" and you can check him at http://www.myspace.com/thephantom816. Until meeting him, I had produced numerous, bland sounding beats to accompany the rhymes. He upped my game by giving me something more powerful to write to, so I guess I have him to thank for "showing me the light," per se. Then, in 2004, I had a powerful revalation: my heart no longer rested in the rap game. Instead, it fell in love with a more powerful, pure and honest form called hip hop. Studying those of the likes of Mos Def, Common, Kweli, Kanye West and others, I found that theres more content to be touched on then just "blunts, 40's and bitches." So that's where some of my writing influence lies, now. I've been trying to get my cd finished for about 3 years now. The biggest setback occuring in 2003 when my computer crashed and I lost all of my music info. So it was back to the drawing board, where the 3 songs you hear on my site were conceived.Have you performed in front of an audience?I currently do not play my music live, but I do read my poetry live.
