Plaza Noise Ensemble (inactive)
2006: The Plaza Noise Ensemble is sax trio (sax, bass and drums). We're very interested in improvisation as well as tightly arranged compositions. For example, we might start a set playing completely free and then go into our arrangement of Glassworks (a piece by Philip Glass).
Hunter Long plays saxophones, Jason Smith plays drums and Mike Moellman plays basses.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
2006: We've been playing together roughly two years (since January '04). The three of us shared a common interest in playing free jazz, as well as somewhat obscure (ie: "non-standard") tunes. We've been steadily building our original repertoire since our inception.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
2006: We've been playing quite frequently at the Cup and Saucer. Check out their website:

Anything else?
