Playground
It's all about the music. The "Playground" is the stage. Warren Butrico co-wrote and arranged the album. He is an extremely talented keyboard aficionado. Done a lot. Mostly self-taught.
Glenn Bacon co-wrote and produced the project. He is a singer/songwriter with roots from the sixties Greenwich Village folk/rock music era.
Initial Approach is an instrumental smooth jazz album. We hope you will enjoy their work.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Warren and Glenn perform occasionally at various venues. But "Initial Approach" was a studio project done for the sheer love of the music. These guys enjoy some real diversified talents and are known to play well with others. You just gotta like what you hear.
Your musical influences
Initial Approach is predominately a smooth jazz album. Warren listened to Dave Grusin alot and developed the ability to construct fabulous arrangements. Glenn pretty much evolved into jazz. Through the years he developed his ear for smooth jazz compositions. He listens to Larry Carlton, Earl Klugh, and "The Rippingtons".
What equipment do you use?
A Technics KN-2000 was the principle keyboard used on the album. There's also a whole bunch of toys.
