His 6'2", 335 lb. frame makes him quite an imposing looking producer. But beyond his mass, lies a creative musical drive that is unrivaled by anyone. Mystro Biggz has developed his beat making/producing skills into a finely tuned and polished product that is in demand by many artists. He has created music and beats for Hip Hop artists, R&B artists, Dance artists, Electronica artists. He has also created music for radio commercials, jingles and independent films, as well as video games. When Mystro was asked about makes him stand out from other producers, he had this to say. The producers of today are really more geared toward whatever they are doing. They tailor their music to the artist and they run with that throughout the span of the artist. The only ones that have really branched out in the industry are Dr. Dre, Timbaland, The Neptunes, Scott Storch Swizz Beats and Lil Jon. Of course all of these producers are of the highest caliber and being that they branched out to try other things, is what has made them successful. I want to be even more creative than these guys and branch out into even more and be as diverse and flexible as possible. I dont want to be limited to just one style of Hip Hop, Dance, R&B or whatever. It is about doing music, no matter what kind it is. With a knack for being extremely creative with his music, Mystro Biggz has completely made a name for himself with his pounding drum lines, simplistic bass lines, complex yet original musical composition and is held in high regards by artists and critics alike for his direct approach to programming and arranging all his beats. Mystro Biggz is destined to become a giant in the music business, no matter which form of music he decides to tackle. He has no limitations, no boundaries between him and success. There will be many artists out there who will listen to his range of music and realize that he is going to be the future in this business. He can mold his skills to any artist out there and he is poised and positioned to take the world by storm. Be on the lookout for this producer, Mystro Biggz. He is big in size and big in talent.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I have been doing music, in some capacity since I was 5 years old. I started off, actually playing the clarinet in third grade and just started playing different instruments each year. One of my huge musical influences was my band teacher at the, now defunct, Russell Elementary school here in Lexington, Kentucky, Mr. Charles F. Little Jr. He really helped set my path to being musical, in every sense of the word. Being that I was a minority in my elementary school,(90% black/10% white) he broke the racial and nationality barriers for me. He taught us black songs, white songs, international songs, hymns, gospel songs, you name it. He was the man that helped me realize that music was it for me. And of course, over the years, I have developed my other musical talents on my own into what you hear today. The music has always been a part of me and it always will be til they lay me into the grave.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I am not what I consider a live act. I am a producer, through and through. I am the behind the scenes guy who likes to get his hands dirty in the composition, the production, the mixing and the mastering of the music business. I have rapped in my time and done a little bit of singing, but not as a performing artist. Just as a creative outlet to get some things off my chest.
Your musical influences
Currently, my musical influences are as follows, Timbaland. A musical genius in my eyes, with no limitations to what he can produce. Dr. Dre. What else do I need to say. The godfather of Hip Hop and the reason that I create Hip Hop as well. The Neptunes. Two of the most creative producers to ever hit the music business. Simplistic yet extremely innovative in all their music production. Lil Jon. Not exactly the best rapper in the world, but as a producer, he is off the charts. If there is any kind of club anthem needed in the south, this is the man that gets the call. These guys are at the height of what they do and even though most of these guys deal mainly in Hip Hop or rap, they all go other directions creatively too. They epitomize where I would like to take my music, creatively.
What equipment do you use?
I only use one thing for all the music I compose. Fruity Loops 7XXL Producer Edition. My motto has always been, it aint what you got, it is how you make what you got work. I dont need tons of high end equipment to be creative. Dont get me wrong, if I had the money, I would have it, but I am a poor white boy from Fayette. It is just a matter of putting time into what you do have and making it work the best it can. I craft my beats to sound like they were not done with just a simple computer program. You listen and make the call.
Anything else?
Check my site often. You will hear me come up with music of all genres. I wont be sticking to one style. I am going to mix up my sound that will make some people just wonder what I am doing. I will be getting extremely creative and you will soon know that I am not just a guy trying to brag about what I can do.. I am what I say I am. Creative, talented and musically ready to make my name, Mystro Biggz, the standard of originality in the music business.
