Band/artist history
Pit Bull Grin was formed in January of 2001, but was put on a short hiatus due to the band not having rehearsal space. The website was launched in October of 2001 with their first single, BIG BAD NOTHING, being released on MP3.com for download. In January of 2002, original skinsman Cory Buckwheat departed PIT BULL GRIN, thus creating the current lineup.
This amazing lineup of musicians has been busy writing the most intense and focused music they ever have, always putting on the meat with a side of chug. Pit Bull Grin is on a whirlwind of destruction that will not disappoint even the pickiest Metal fan.
For the past year, they have been taking their songs live with great response and pleasure. Performances have ranged from many cities in Ontario including Windsor, London, Toronto, Stratford, and everywhere in between. Eventually they would like to take their live show on the road, venturing further into Canada, and even into the U.S.A.
In November of 2002, Pit Bull Grin Organized the Windsor Extreme Music Fest, in order to help promote the growing Metal scene in Windsor and the rest of Ontario. Numerous bands from all over Ontario and the Eastern U.S came in and played the two day concert which was co-headlined on the final night by Pit Bull Grin, bands included LODOWN, FUCK THE FACTS, VESPERIAN SORROW, and Canadian Death Metal Gods, CRYPTOPSY. This concert, deemed a huge success, gave the band another kick in the ass into what many say is their next step in the Metal Industry.
In may of 2003, Pit Bull Grin travelled to Montreal to take part in the first OBEY THE FLAME FEST ever. Also on the bill were such bands as STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, GOD FORBID, SKINLESS, THE END, & DYSRYTHMIA. The show was a huge success with Pit Bull Grin ripping Montreal apart.
Pit Bull Grin has played over 40 live shows since April of 2002. They have shared the stage with the likes of Cryptopsy, Today Is The Day, Vesperian Sorrow, Scratching Post, LoDown, Woods Of Ypres, Strapping Young Lad, Skinless, God Forbid, Dysrythmia, & The End.
