Pipeline

Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Pipeline are an indie band from Torquay, Devon. They formed in Sept 2001 and have been constantly gigging nationwide. The original line-up included Nick Irwin who played rhythm guitar who was replaced by Rich White when he decided to pursue his education. After a couple of months rehearsing and writing there own material they recorded Stating HereEP which was there 1st release and sold out locally. Pipeline then entered a national showcase competition that was advertised in the NME. Due to theyre being no regional heat in Devon meant we had to travel to ONeils Bar, Earls Court, London for their heat. Pipeline managed to beat 5 other bands to both the audience vote and the judges vote for a place in the grand final that was held at the same venue. Pipeline came 3rd in the final and caught the eye of some booking agents; this has lead to gigs in The Borderline and Westonefour in London. This lead to there 2nd release live @ westonefour a 7 track live album. The band then has concentrated on gigging around the country, which has taken us from Manchester to Bournemouth, Shrewsbury to London. It has also lead to us to play a couple of live radio sets on Manchesters ALL.FM and have had several stations play listing our tunes. The band have recently been working with local label Skittish Records and have supported a number of signed bands around the country including Jet Plane Landing Crackout, Antihero, Sufferkiss, Physchid and Scarlet Soho. The group has recently played the opening night at the Levenshulme Palace, Manchester and has played live at The Party in the Park in Manchester for the top 20 UK live unsigned bands. The bands 3rd release a four track EP Chicken Soup for the Soul has just been completed. They are now looking to sign a record deal and to go on a tour of Britain.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Pipeline gig nationally around the country playing live music venues and festivals. The best gig that we have done would be the opening night at the Levenshulme Palace, Manchester with Belle Vue. The people in Manchester are so up for live music that you can't fail to enjoy playing in the city. Some of the bands special moments would be supporting signed bands like Jet Plane Landing and Antihero. Another highlight would be playing live at the UK's top 20 live bands festival in Wythenshaw Park, Manchester.
