Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Based on the first intentions of young elementary students growing up in Houston, The Pimp Click Playaz have continued to maintain their character throughout constant changes in music. Eric (Big Love) Miller, Sylvester (Lil Vesta) Bullard, his brother Cedric (C-Nyle) Bullard, and (soon after) Gerrod (G'Coste) Simon, Herbert (Stink) Stansberry, and producer Damien (Daddy D) Dugas began battling out the music at an early age. Later to be included Demarcus (Eyezaleani) Williams. Eager to rap, they accepted performances anywhere that they could find an audience who would appreciate their music and their message. Adapting their original mode of tongue-twisting to include rhythm and blues with a street momentum, their music evolved with the world. As they grew with their music and their performance, they always showed a deep commitment to others through active involvement with the communities of Studewood & Acres Homes. Despite the name changes and musical trends, The Pimp Click still possess those original attributes of great talent, solidarity, and a desire to give to the world what they have to offer: their music and a bit of themselves.
Debuting on Unlimited Records in 1997, their first song "Hatas Too," off the Big Love Representin' Real LP, hit on both the Radio and Informant charts. As their debut was strong, their success continued with smash singles that the label while under investigation would not release. These songs are said to have been retrieved by Candy Sto' Productions and will be released as "The Lost Tapes" The Pimp Click then became infamous for their guest appearances on local DJ's mix tapes. Their next album, would be the underground release "Platinum Freestyles" in 2001, The Pimp Click Playaz always made a strong impression with their fans, and they proved to the youth they could even reign supreme in an era of slowed down music. With momentum now behind them, they step into widespread popular acclaim. In 1999, G'Coste joined the group and added his own vivacious energy to the music, as can be heard in their next smash "Time 2 Shine" (also included on the "Platinum Freestyles" soundtrack). Just as the past has shown the quality of music that The Pimp Click Playaz expose, their future is destin to be amongst the greats to compose hip-hop music.
As the group advances further into the millenium, their gifted style will allow them further success. Songs from the "Representin' Real" album are now bringing strong notoriety and a substantial following in Germany. Big Moe's "City of Syrup" album has C-Nyle of the PCP ripping the track to threads. Swisha House artist Lil' Mario's "Street Fame" album has Lil' Vesta of the PCP propelling them into higher acclaim as well. Throughout the years, The Pimp Click Playaz have maintained their high success with more hits and notable ventures. Always promoters of goodwill and higher ideals, The Pimp Click Playaz also participated in the Stop The Set Trippin' Seminar to relieve tension from rival sides of the Houston area. After a sold-out tour of the southern region, some members of The Pimp Click Playaz chose to pursue other various projects for a time. Lil' Vesta made both his documentary acting debuts in "Street Fame" and "DJ Screw," respectively. Also departing for a time, Eric Miller(Big Love) pursued other writing and producing opportunities from which he now returns. The remaining members of The Pimp Click Playaz utilized the time to work on projects creating some of the greatest hits hip-hop fans will witness.
With their upcoming releases The Pimp Click Playaz are once again starting the music scene with a tremendous blend of soulful, riveting music and decadent performances. Their aspirations never having been diverted from humanistic ideals and a commitment to higher music, The Pimp Click is reestablishing itself as a powerfront for a conscientious and captivating groove.
