Picture Frame Seduction

Picture Frame Seduction, Est in 1978 as a very young punk rock band, signed to Rot Records and SO SO Records in the UK in the early 80's. Released a number of tracks on compilations and then a single in 1984 ' I'm good enough for me ' In 1985 the band released an album ' The Hand of the Rider ' and appeared on a further 2 compilations. These were all vinyl releases. The band toured extensively in the UK with The UK Subs, Exploited, Varukers, English Dogs, GBH and many other bands that pioneered the UK82 era. You should be getting the picture as to the style of music PFS play, and still do today. In 1986 PFS headlined the 100 Club in London with good friends The Varukers as support, thereafter the band decided to take a break and left the punk rock scene, in 1990 guitarist Mark Bozier died at the age of 25. In 2000 the band reformed and played in their home country of Wales to a full house, and penned a number of tracks which were released on the Retch CD ' What's that Hardcore Noise ? ' A collection of new and old PFS material. The CD is now sold out. In 2003 the band took to playing serious UK shows and have since played with UK punk allies Demob, Goldblade, Splodge, 999, The Lurkers, Tenpole Tudor and many more. In 2005 gigs are being lined up with GBH. New material has been recorded for a release in December 2004, 18 new tracks. And Grand Theft Audio, the, Los Angeles punk label will release a retro PFS CD in November 2004 called ' Stop the Bloody Slaughter ' In February 2004 the band re-issued their first album on Vinyl ( sold out ) Yes punksters, there's more to come. So in the words of the masters Bad Brains - Come to Play ..........
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The current crop Keith Haynes - Vocals. Original PFS founder member with Barrie O' Dare. Spent a short while on the skins for Discharge in 1980 after the departure of Tez before returning to Wales. Likes - footy ( C'mon You Swans ) Editor of Come on Cymru football books, various other biographies and Swansea based history books. Reccomends you go to www.jackarmy.net for the home of football. Hates nobody. Drinks RBV, smokes, and is the youngest member of PFS ( nothing to shout about really, he is 39 ! ) Was once famed for being the smelliest punk rocker in the world - and wearing countless garments due to the fact he slept rough and didn't tell anyone. Listening to today - DEMOB, the immensley talented FOREIGN LEGION 4 Past Midnight, The Ramones, RANCID, The Sex Pistols and thinks SUM 41 aint that bad. Biggest influence The Clash / Stranglers 1977 - 1979. Robin Folland - Guitars. Was always in most PFS line ups until late 1983 when he decided to concentrate his efforts on the family funeral directing business. He is indeed a fat lad with a spare tyre you wouldn't get on the rack at Kwik Fit. Eats Gammon egg and chips every day, loves him mum June, Promises to do things he never does, eats mints ( he ate so many in school he had all his teeth taken out by the age of 16 ) And thinks Heavy Metal aint that bad. Loves making a noise, as fast as possible and was the first punk rocker in Pembrokeshire to wear tartan bondage trousers. Listening to today - Metallica, Foreign Legion, and PFS ( we are awesome mate ) Griff - Drums. Infamous headbutter of unsuspecting folk in his youth, is nearly deaf due to the fact he picks his ears with match sticks and drives a taxi. Hs been with PFS from the very early days. Before that he played the drums with a local band called SIDE FX, all The Ramones songs were covered ! Spent a year in Thailand in 2001 which maybe accounts for the continual scratching and yearning to say " Yeah right man " Listening to today - Punkorama 5, Transplants and anything else he gets sent for free ! Steve Arthur - Bass. Original Haverfordwest punk rocker which earned him the title of Punky in his youth. Never associated with the band due to the fact he was with the local biker brigade for many years. Loves golf and is the worlds most obsessive man. Everything he does is done to the full - 100 % Steve claims to be the best bassist PFS ever had. Which is probably right ! Sorry Tim. The previous crop Tim Horsley - Bass / vocals - Moody and friendly little chap. Played bass from 1979 - 1983. Sported blonde hair AKA Lobbon, and loved Chron Gen at one point. Union Jack t-shirt wearing first punk poseur of old Hafod town. Now works in a garage, so well done Tim, and played bass on the last gig which makes up some of What's that hardcore Noise ? He won't get any royalties though because he didn't write back to Keith in 2002. Enjoyed the Anti Pasti and Chron Gen gigs ( PFS supported them ) in 1981 so much he once stated that " This is where it is at " Where he actually meant is not yet known. Nigel Drumm - Bass. 1978 - 1979. Odd was Nigel, now lives in Yorkshire and once came to school sporting green spikey hair declaring it was now back to it's original colour. Had a girlfriend who convulsed every time he played the bass, and had that sneer on his face that earned him so many enemies. It is now known as the punk rock look, ala Sidney Vicious. AKA Drummy. Mark Bozier - Guitars. 1983 - 1986. Played on the Good enough for me EP and The Hand of the Rider. AKA Noddy. Once of Illegal 15 Hertfordshire based punk rock band. Joined PFS after answering an advert in Sounds. Loved GBH and The Exploited. Came to Haverfordwest in a Hillman Imp which he later sold for 20. Friendly charming man who loved the ladies so much they gave him free diseases most weeks. A sad loss to anyone who knew him as a friend when he died at the age of 26 from a heart attack. Mark is buried in the graveyard ( where else ? ) at Wheathampstead in Hertfordshire but ventures out quite often to have a look around. RIP Noddy. You are not forgotten. Famous quote after indulging too much in the local mushroom crop " I am floundering in the flower bed " Loved tipping Hillsy out of bed and was a great friend to many of us. Steve Parkin - Bass. 1984 - 1986. AKA The Weave. Young unsuspecting PFS fan literally kidnapped from an Aberaeron chippy to join the band before a metalwork O'level exam. Took to the bass like Robert Maxwell to water but loved the punk scene. Totally committed to Disorder and the Bristol punk thing. Said hello during the mixing of the 2003 cd in Bwlch Llan and never came back ! Peace love and the Weave. His two school mates joined The Varukers, one was called Milesy ! Wherever he is now may his dole cheque be a big one. Barrie O'Dare - Vocalist for one gig. Bloody awful singer and became the bands manager for a short while. Kept making the boys play in obscure manor houses with massive throngs of hippies dancing like it was 1967. His dad owned the local pop factory - Alderwicks now capably run by his sister Susan. Now lives in France and owns his own restaurant. Loved The Banshee's and lived in a caravan at the bottom of his garden. Those others who are deserving of a mention, The roadies - Rowey, Gizmo ( he drove too ) Marc Evs, Lorne William Dunne ( RIP ) The Pool Boys, Dew St, Jon Parsons,The Narberth Road Rebels for hating us then looking after us, and anyone of the time - who remembers the time. And what a time it was.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Anywhere, anytime, make yer ears bleed. Our vinyl releases in the 80's meant a lot to us, and winning the Welsh Anti Nuclear Alliance battle of the bands in 1982.
