Phlo is the 25 year old promoter of the Reading based grhyme club night.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Used to be called Conflict to signify a conflict of self. Of inner emotion, good versus the demons and dark shadows within. Not a physical thing.
Then Conflix started making waves in London so I changed to Turmoil but this was short lived as it conjured up images of confrontation which wasn't what my music is about.
So Phlo was born aka Ben Jammin aka Benny iLL and with it came grhyme.co.uk as a way to promote the live shows and includes a forum.
Your musical influences
UK Hip Hop such as Jehst, Taskforce, Phi Life Cypher, Yungun and all the Lowlife squad. Any type of music that moves me whether its rock, pop, hip hop, dance, ragga - if it has an emotional effect I'll listen to it.
