PHILIP HEMLEY PROJECT
Hello and welcome to the Philip Hemley project. I am a songwriter from the Pacific Northwest (Washington State.)I sing, play guitar, and flute. I have a strong love for Jesus My wife, and guitars.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've been a Lead Guitarist and singer for over 40 years. Ive studied music at the University of Washington,and played up and down the West Coast in my own touring band in the 70's,but now prefer being close to home.Due to a strong need to write music I started the Philip Hemley Project.At this time it is a songwriting project only, and just for fun.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I am currently playing Christian music at the Lincoln ave Bible Church in Bremerton Washington every Sunday.

What equipment do you use?
For recording vocals I use an audio-technica 30 series microphone. Guitars are either a telecaster with a Warmoth Body, a 74 Fender telecaster custom, Jaguar Baritone Special, Faded SG, A Fender Esquire, or a Les Paul. My amp of choice is a Fuchs overdrive 30 watt head, and a 1x12 cabinet.On occasion I use a Carvin Cobalt Acoustic.
Anything else?
All of these song are demos recorded at my home. I'm trying to get my songs out fast to see how they are received to decide which songs will make the final CD.That's why I'm not sticking with one particular style 101; since I want to see what is received the best.
