NOTE: Phantasmagoria is listed under "Goth Metal", but we are definitely NOT Goth Metal!! Phantasmagoria plays old school doom/death!!!!
Band/artist history
Phantasmagoria was founded in autumn 2000 by André de Heus (ex- Serenade Of Darkness, Mytox, Titty Torture ). At first it was a project focussed on symphonic darkwave. After releasing the first Cdemo “My Dark Domain” I started to develop and play some more instruments. The musical direction of Phantasmagoria went from symphonic darkwave to symphonic doom/death. It’s still melancholic with a depressive touch. The music expresses emotions and feelings which I felt for some time. At first Phantasmagoria was a one mans project. But now I've turned it into a band. At the end of 2003 I started the search for some musicians who could complete the band. My brother-in-law, Mario (ex-Amethist) was very interested in playing the bass. He knew Patrick from another band who could play the lead-guitar in Phantasmagoria. Through advertising on the net I came in contact with Roland and in early februari, with no drummer and with the use of a drumcomputer, we rehearsed a couple of times. Roland knew some drummers, so after a few "auditions" we found in Dennis the drummer for the band! The band is complete and we're gonna do a try-out in the So What in Ede (NL) in August. So, keep your eyes and ears open for us and you'll hear from us soon! Line up: Roland - Synths Patrick - Lead Guitar André - Guitar & Vocals Mario - Bass Dennis - Drums Phantasmagoria will release their second CDemo in 2005. It will be a 5-track demo (incl intro). This demo will be entitled Misery.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yep, of course.
Your musical influences
Old school doom/death metal. We're influenced by bands like: The Gathering, My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, Evisceration, Anathema, but only the OLD stuff!!!
