I have been playing the classical guitar for over 40 years. I studied for 15 of those years, and have been composing music for the guitar seriously since 1980.
Pressed to name influences on my compositional style I would mention the following: Ralph Towner, Keith Jarrett, Kenny Wheeler, Egberto Gismonti, Federico Mompou, Leo Brouwer, and a whole host of great jazz pianists and classical guitar composers. Currently (12-2007) I am working on a cd project of all original compositions. I am also a professional luthier.
Band/artist history
No comment.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I play in smaller venues, weddings, coffee houses, private parties and gatherings. The more intimate the venue the better.
Your musical influences
See introduction.
What equipment do you use?
I build my own instruments.
Anything else?
If you are interested in a new approach to the classical guitar, please give me a listen. I try to compose music that showcases the guitar's ability to express a broad range of emotion, with both harmonic and rythmic diversity.
