Peter House
Been playing for over 6 years, writing songs for 4 or so. I did all these on a 4-track cassette recorder over breaks from collegel. Its fun, I should've started doing this earlier, though I'm content with the way things are going.
My music has the same DIY sound quality of early Daniel Johnston NMH and Mountain Goats, but with more solos. I spend alot of time crafting my songs and deciding on an order etc... before I commit them to tape in fevered late-night sessions spread over a matter of days. THats the prevailing pattern anyways.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I do open mics with Moss, some solo ones as well up in Pdam, yeah hopefully some live stuff back here in Alfred, with and/or without Duncan
Your musical influences
Bob Dylan, Daniel Johnston, Will Sheff, John Darnielle, Stephin Merritt, Jeff Mangum. I'm not adverse to computer or stereo recording, but do not currently possess the tools. Also, I have a thing for wweird squeaky and distorted tape effects which I use to slight effect (kinda like early NMH demos)
What equipment do you use?
Acoustic guitar, an electric occasionally, cheap keyboards, cheap harmonicas, a cheap mandolin, and now a cheap ukelele!
Anything else?
I have two albums for download here: The first eleven songs belong to Fully Drawn Sketches (recorded Xmas break 06-07), and the rest are on Muses or Whims (recorded Spring Break 07)
Also, I'd love to hear feedback from anyone on any of my songs.
