Perry Rice
I'm a singer songwriter, influenced by country, folk, jazz, jambands, and generally offbeat stuff. Some of my songs are political, some humorous, some just moody instrumentals.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've been playing for about 20 years, in bands and out; live and recording.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play live only occasionally now, looking for a sober competent rhythm section and collaborators currently. I want to form a band where the band members listen to one another, with spontaneity and improvisation are normal. Ideally, think of the Grateful Dead with CSNY harmonies, or the Band, or Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
My old band always closed with a 20 minute version of Whipping Post, and tere were ALWAYS special moments then!
Your musical influences
Neil Young, Grateful Dead, CSN, The Band, The Allman Brothers, Jefferson Airplane, Johnny Cash, Storyville, John Hiatt, Jackson Browne
