Our band consist of 3 members. Billy Rutherford - Bassist and editor of this site, Tristan Nilson - Drummer, Matt Bowen - Guitar/Vocals/songwriter. We have been a band for... I think around 6-8 months now. Our music is a cross between Grunge (Nirvana) and 60's pop (Beatles). Thats pretty much it.
Band/artist history
We don't really have much of a history. I mean we are a very young band (in being a band in the members ourselves). Our history is basically jamming at the drummer's house as much as we can, getting ready for future gigs and recordings.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yeah, we play live. We love playing live. Just the crowd watching and listening makes me wet :-p We practice at our drummer's house 2-3 times a week, and people can come listen if they want. We've played about 4 shows; mostly local venues and one in D.C. We are looking for more shows, so if you like our music and want us to open/play with you, just send me an email at perfectunion87@hotmail.com. I think the only special moment we had was when I (Billy) broke a string at our first concert. It was about 3 songs and and SNAP! there going me A sting, which is very important to bass players. Luckly my friend's band was still there and a their bassist let me barrow his for the rest of the show.
Your musical influences
Many...We are influenced by so much music its unbelievible. But the main 2 which everyone says, which I've listed before, is a cross between Nirvana and The Beatles. It is a grungy sound with a pop undertone. Some songs the 60's pop really shows, but its usually the grunge that is the overtone.
What equipment do you use?
I (Billy) groove on a very shitty GSR 100 Ibanez bass, with a even more shitty 30W Rogue Bass Amp. Matt jams on a Fender Sratocaster, and sometimes a Ibanez (Dunno what model). For now, he uses a crappy 10-20 watt amp, and uses his 60W Peevee (spelling?) for his vocals. I think Tristan rocks out on a Tama 5-piece drum kit, with 2 crashes and a ride (I think Zidjin or however you spell it).
