Kristie being a native to Florida, was born in Tampa and relocated to Sarasota. She began playing piano in Elementary School with original instruction in classical compositions. After years of instruction and recitals she found a unique variety that she enjoyed more than the classical and went off in her own direction with her playing
Her voice is known for her ethereal quality like the unique styles of Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Knicks and Bette Midler to name a few, with an in your face stage presence that leaves audiences breathless.
Chad also a native to Florida, was born in Tampa and then relocated to Sarasota. He began playing Trumpet in Middle School. Once in High School he joined the band with over 350 members and found himself winning county awards left and right like the Louis Armstrong and All-Star Jazz Soloist of the Year Awards resulting in allot of recognition in the media.
One of his star moments was in his senior year when he had the opportunity to give a solo performance during the half time show of the Tampa Bay Buc’s and Buffalo Bill's game at Tampa Stadium. During his free time after graduating from school he decided to teach himself additional instruments such as the saxophone, flugelhorn, flute and harmonica.Have you performed in front of an audience?We do currently play live and have been since May of 2002. We play in the Sarasota/Bradenton venue currently and are loving it. Our most special moment that I can recall would probably be when we did a rendition of a Chicago toon "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is" you would have thought we were the actual band itself with the reaction the audience gave. We really thought we would never be able to top the applause. It felt wonderful.
Your musical influences
Our influences are many but just to name a few would be Bobby Caldwell which is probably one of Chad's favorites currently. George Benson, Miles Davis, Grover Washington Jr., Better Midler and so many others. We do our best to provide a variety so that everyone is entertained, however, the original compositions are targeted towards mostly Jazz origin.What equipment do you use?
