Gorgeous melodies, intelligent, carefully crafted and surprising arrangements, concise and energetic performances, folk-cryptic lyrics galore, and morethis is a band of musicians who have developed a musical style that is capable of sustaining a more profound artistic element, one thats been a long time coming for grassroots rock music. Homegrown and hand-sewn, bawdy and yet classic in its refinement: Welcome to The Peach Truck Republic.
Band/artist history
Since the informal establishment of The Peach Truck back in the fall of '93, they've been serving from a vast menu of musical explorations, one that has resulted in a noteworthy celebration and marriage of life's most perennial traditions. From John Lee Hooker to Neil Young, from The Grateful Dead to The Allman Brother's Band, from James Brown to Bob Dylan, from Peter Green to Led Zeppelin, and so on ad infinitum--the essential ingredients have been tasted and taken, the aggregate of which may best be described as The Peach Truck Republic's newborn, "progressive-folk-blues."
The band is currently booking a regional tour in support of their latest album release, Fenceposts. This second album, a double-length concept piece, is a revolutionary departure from the 1997 12-bar explorations of Come In My Kitchen, and the live show more than follows suit. Experience, talent, creativity, professionalism, crowd communion, and an absolute love for the music--theres no mistaking The Peach Truck Republic. Fluid interaction, improvisational jams, feature length instrumentals, alternating lead vocals, a cappella insertions, three and four part harmonies, dual lead guitars, and full on percussion--The Peach Truck offers one of the most unique and entertaining, self-produced, live shows to be found. With over four hours of originals to pull from and a positive genius for the incorporation of covers, this is a band that presents a wealth of material.
Altogether, The Peach Truck Republics sound is an unusual mixture of elements blended with extraordinary cohesion by a group of first-rate musicians; it is the language of Jones, Cook, Jewell, Dismuke, and Hord--the cadence and resonance of a theme that engages conversation, persuades, and is understood.
