Hello, I'm Paul... I have started college and am now 35 years old. I am following my dreams as a Music Comp major at Berea College in Kentucky. Suffice to say, I am nervous, scared, unsure if I've made the right decision. It is a bit daunting to change careers at any age, but I'll be as old as most of my professors. It is a small price to pay for following my dreams. After school I hope to write music for video games and film.
For years I played in a number of local Memphis Bands. I played metal, punk, rock, and blues. Of course, for the last year or so, I've been branching into classical. I would love to hear what you all think. Put a note in my message board!
It has been a few years since I updated this thing...other than to add music. I am now 37, and I am finishing up my Junior year. Since starting college I have scored a short film, played in a number of ensembles, written incidental music for a number of plays...one of which won the regional KCACTF and got me a free trip to Washington D.C. to go to the Kennedy Center...and I have begun working on my first symphony. My Senior recital should be a performance of that first symphony.
That is about it for now...Have you performed in front of an audience? Not since leaving the last band I was in...I liked playing live. My very first time playing in front of a crowd, my legs were shaking so bad, I could barely stand. Then, when we were done playing, I jumped off the stage...not realizing that the lights were that low...I bashed my head on a light rig...then, I saw lights. Another show...we were not paid money...we were paid with beer. AAaaahh the good old days! LOL
