Patrick Garvin
Im a solo artist and I love to play acoustic rock type music. My major influences are Dave Matthews Band, Dashboard Confessional and Jack Johnson. Most of my songs are about love, heartbreak, problems in society or my life at the time. It comes out a lot more positive than it sounds.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started playing guitar seriously when i was 14 years old. I starting writing lyrics to my songs about a year ago and i think i have a pretty cool writing technique with it. My songs in general are short and sweet. Good rythem though
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I've played a couple times at open mic nights at bars and stuff and I'm recently getting reddy to play at my high shcool's talent show on Dec. 4th
Your musical influences
Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, Sublime, Nirvana, Dashboard Confessional and any band who does an acoustic rock type song.
What equipment do you use?
A takemine G-series guitar with a Martin pickup in the bridge. I use a Peavy acoustic 40 watt amp with mic of coarse.
Anything else?
One of the unique things that seperates me from other people in the music that i play (acoustic rock) is the rythem of some of my songs.
