Paramour

Based out of Fort Walton Beach Florida, Paramour has played their songs to numerous crowds in this area. At first they were told to play covers and slide in an original every once in a while, however, originality is what brought the band together, so they decided as a band to only play original music. The guitarist, Rick Lander, and lead vocalist, Dale Lovley collaborate in writing the heartfelt songs. Paramour is a four piece band consisting of a singer who plays rhythm (Dale Lovley), a lead guitarist (Rick Lander), a bass guitarist (Greg Peterson), and a drummer(Mike Richie). Most of the songs on the album are about love gone wrong. Rick and Dale were both going through divorce with children at the time they were written. Gladly they both ended up with the boys, and everything is going fine so far. The bands Fort Walton Beach fan base is growing rapidly, and new material continues to pour from Paramour's music loving souls. Every song brings with it a new point of growth in the lives of the fans as well as the bands. Diversity in lyrics such as "Hero" show how love can not always overcome adversity, while "Obsessive", another song off the Somber album, allows the band to show off an edgier style using heavy guitar riffs combined with pounding vocals for a crowd pleasing mix. One of many in this very diverse foursome. Great things are in the future for this band with Dale Lovley's vast array of vocal influences including Creed, Tool, Godsmack, Alice in Chains, and Skid Row. Rick Lander's choice guitar licks that scream 80's Hair band meets Pantera meets Nickelback, and Greg Peterson's five string sickness unite styles such as Tool, incubus, and Hoobastank , combined with thrashing hip hop beats provided by Mike Richie, the possibilities are endless!!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Paramour started with vocalist Dale Lovley and guitarist Rick Lander writing acoustic songs on the front porch and playing them for neighbors. This helped them cope with the events going on in their lives at the time. After playing together for a while, the two decided it was time to form a band and look for a drummer, so onward they went in search of the missing piece. They placed ads, called drummers, and even played a couple songs with a few, until they met Mike Richie, who shared their dream and love for music. The new trio worked on songs together, but still felt as if they were missing something. Another guitarist and a bass player. They put an ad up and found Karen and Dom. They ended up not being part of the band, but through Karen and Dom they met Greg. So the foursome pressed on continuing to learn and grow together. Paramour strived in open mike nights and small bars but needed a lead guitarist, so they halted their playing in the local area. It was not until late 2001 that Dale finally picked up the guitar after 3 months of seaching for a lead guitarist. They decided Rick would just play lead and Dale would take over as rhythm guitarist. So with the band complete they hit the local scene with a new found energy and a new song list that hit straight to the core of the band's fanbase. With songs everyone could relate to in their own lives, Paramour continued their popularity with welcoming crowds.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
