Features members from two of the more notable groups that have come out of the local area, Sponge (Grover) and Bliss 66 (Goff). The duo came together when Grover was seeking a suitable frontman for his compositions and found the perfect fit with Goff's voice, experience and presence. Austin, who founded the fairly successful Downriver unit Bridgewood, joined soon after on the six-string. Donnie Patty, most recently of Bliss 66, eventually completed the foursome on bass.
The name: The group's unique moniker borrows concepts from the films "Fight Club" and "The Boondock Saints."
"We were kicking around names and I had one I was partial to," said Grover. "We had a list of 12 different names (and) Cheyenne was just so passionate about the name.
"There's just so much meaning and validity behind Paper Street Saints."
Music style: Comparable to aspects of the members' associated projects, the leanings of its rock sound are similar to Stone Temple Pilots, Sound Garden - just heavy modern rock.
Has the band recorded anything? The band has put together a 10-song CD that is available at shows, and eventually right here on this website.
What does the future hold? Paper Street Saints hope that in the next few months it will be able to showcase itself for record labels, and Grover says that longevity is definitely expected.
"The band's so new but the songs are so cool," he said. "This is the best project I have been involved in since Sponge."
"We have all the pieces."Have you performed in front of an audience?we play all over the detroit area.we are gearing up for shows in ohio, and chicago.as far as special moments.there have been screw up's,blunders, mistakes and play drunleness onstage.as far as any of them being special........i'm not sure.
