Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The Paper Street Company formed in the fall of 2004 when solo artists Brendan Murphy and Charlie Noell met in Davenport, Iowa. The two Chicago natives hit it off immediately and began writing material on an acoustic guitar and piano. By the end of the year the two were in Chicago recording our first taste of Paper Street Co. With demo in hand, The Friends of Paper Street have literally infused the music into the Quad Cities and greater Chicago area. Spring 2005 saw some changes for PSC with the addition of permanent drummer Steve Wallin. Immediately, the three joined by then bass player Bob Quigley entered Big Spaceships Studios (Glen Ellyn, IL). There along with producers Charlie Mamoser and Bill Raff recorded 5 tracks released as a self-titled EP. Spring 2006, PSC enters the studio yet again. Big Spaceships Studios in conjunction with Columbia University (Chicago) offer the setting for the third release "Yearbook in Advance", a 7 song EP late July 2006. Always evolving and perfecting their sound, summer 2006 sees the addition of two new members Joe LaDuke on guitar and Matt Boss on bass/vox. Each brings a signature style and depth that compliments the existing sound. In this short time, Paper Street Co. has released 4 EPs and completed their first full length album titled "Perfecting the Art of Casual." Having played over 240 shows, including their successful Circles and Scars Tour, they have appeared in some of the Midwests largest music venues including The Metro, Double Door, Martyrs, The Elbo Room, Subterranean, The Note, and TheReverb(IA) in just under 4 years. They are definitely a band on the rise who commands your attention. Be on the look out for PSC in your city and be sure to check stores for the new full length "Perfecting the Art of Casual."
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, playing live has always been at the top of the list of favorite things. Also without a live show that is representative of who you are and what you music you play, a Cd is just a Cd. Paper Street Co. has appeared at venues such as Subterranean (Chicago), The Note (Chicago), The NiteCap Lounge (Chicago), Eastern Illinois University, St. Ambrose University (Davenport,IA), Silvie's Lounge (Chicago), and Bar Vertigo (Chicago)

These combine for a sound that one can listen to and hear heavy guitar riffs, but at the same time one can interpret the lighter complimentary vocal styles.
