PAPA DOC tha Ill Spitta
Doc Mananoff (Tha Ill Spitta)
Doc Mananoff (formerly known as "Papa Doc") is on a mission to place Chicago Hip Hop on the music industry map and bring it the respect it rightfully deserves. Doc is due to release his
first long play album "FROM HERE TO FAME!" later this year.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Papa Doc was featured on the TSP crew debut cassette "Look what the wind blew in" (1996) and
Breaking Bread entertainment's compilation cd "This thing of ours" (2002) and has worked with various artists
and producers over the years like: Dug Inf, Grav, Aztec, Lomai and Clash Titan, as well as performed with national acts like:
Flava Flav, Edo G. Souls of mischeif and Fat Joe and has a friend in the Legendary master of
P-funk: Mr. George Clinton who will guest appear on Doc's CD.
Papa Doc's unorthodox style as well as his penchant for X-rated lyrics has prevented
him from reaching the mainstream level but with the soon to be released "From here to fame"
it's quite possible that he will receive his much deserved props!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I have performed with cats like Flava Flav, Souls of mischeif, and Edo-G. Not to mention ripped heads off in various battles.
Your musical influences
My first influence is Hip Hop! I'm influenced by George Clinton, Kool G rap, Rakim, and most true Golden age real emcees and classic old school R&B artists.
What equipment do you use?
Pro tools and my RODE NTK Mic (also a Focusrite Penta Pre amp.)
Anything else?
"Come raw or not at all!"
