For All Your Support !Band/artist history
Started and Co-Founded with the music band SDIB ( san diego island boys ) in San Diego, Ca & with 1 full CD release in Hawaii under Aku Roots Record Label the CD was a success on Hawaii's radio station and sold all over the world through iTunes and various online CD site's. SDIB broke up shorty after the CD release and Island Irie was formed with a replacement of 2 SDIB members. Having conflicting decisions and ego's with the new members of the band a year later I left the group and formed Pali Roots Music which is a four piece band consisting of 3 original members of the SDIB with the addition of KayaMon aka Jah Fiyah (keyboard/vocals) other members of the band include Adam Cruz (bass) and John Naki (drum/vocal). Together we have 12 years of performing in the San Diego area.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes. We currently play at Seau's Restaurant in Mission Valley, San Diego, CA every 3rd Wednesday of each month. Other venues include Brew House in Bonita, CA. Gallaghers & Winstons in Ocean Beach, Ca. RT Long Boards in Pacific Beach and various locations thought out the San Diego Sector and Outer Cities. For current and up dated events please visit us on FB www.Facebook.com/palirootsmusic.
Your musical influences
Inspired by local musicians in Hawaii and other Islands in the Pacific is a huge influence on me, my culture, the people and experiences in life plays the major roll to it all. What equipment do you use?
Currently playing on a Jackson Guitar with Elixir 12102 Nanoweb Coated Electric Guitar Strings (11-49) Full Set, running through a Yamaha 300watt tube amp, Rolands GT8 effects pedal board and D-5 AKG vocal microphone.Anything else?
I would like to also give thanks and blessings to Doug Bucanon, Sandra D. Nico G. and Emcee7 for their love, time and effort for implementing their love for the music on the tracks. Love and Respect to Josh Elias and the Island Tat Family keeping it Tradition All Together and to my brother Gil Ontai for all his support through my years in San Diego. Bless, Love and Unity goes out to the Bruddahs of Kahi Lofa who continues to keep things moving Bruddah Raymond aka KalaBlind for sharing his Ukulele with us, Mahalo to all my friends and family who believed in the music and showed support through all these years. Most Importantly we would like give Our Love, Gratefulness, Gratitude and Appreciation to Junior Seau and his management team at the restaurant for giving us the opportunity to bring Island Music and create what is now called Island Night which occurs every Wednesday night in Raw Mana Sushi Lounge and to the staff for providing/sharing such a customer friendly venue with over the top hospitality service that brings you back time and time again.
The Album is near completion and will be announced upon the release of the projected date (date not determined at this moment). Spread the love of music by sharing my site and be sure to hit me up on Face Book www.facebook.com/paliroots and check the band out on YouTube or at a show near you.
