OVERFIEND

OVERFIEND was formed in 1997. Focusing on everything that wasn't there in music, OVERFIEND had the texture, creativity, complication and a will to make something unheard and feel that they are well on their way to doing so. OVERFIEND is out of the smallest state in the country with no music scene at all. Download some music and tell friends, we need to get out of here. Support the wicked.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
OVERFIEND started off as a spinoff from two local bands that both had moderate success. At the beginning OVERFIEND was a versatile doom metal band spouting deversity and creativity in it's field. Eventually, as members came and went, the band introduced elements of jazz, reggae, 80's metal, groove metal, and death metal. For the next few years OVERFIEND dominated the local scene but was held back by an unseen force. This introduced the bands "blackcloud" theory. In late 2003 the band introduced a new lead vocalist and with the new member, drastically changed the sound and dynamics. OVERFIEND is now spreading like wildfire everywhere on the eastcoast of America and enticing every crowd they play for with raw energy and raw music. This is the start of a revolution.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play mostly on the east coast of America but we love it. We play every week and want to play more, we just need the means...i.e. money-so buy more shit please.
Your musical influences
Soulfly, SlipKnot, Lamb of God, Nothingface, Sepultura, Pig Destroyer, Human remains, Slayer, Fantomas, Faith no More, All jazz fusion (bird), mindless self indulgence, candiria.
What equipment do you use?
Custom everything. Josh, the seven string guitarist, uses modified equipment from Marshall and ESP, Ibanez and Schecter guitars. As for his power amp and speaker setup, it only brandishes a symbol from a heavy machinery company... The five string bass player, Mike, Uses a fully customized rackmount setup through Trace Elliot and SWT cabs with custom Ibanez basses. Rob, "salami", uses everything he finds...or so we believe... including but not limited to school bells, ball chains, tamborines, hard drive memory disks...
Anything else?
You aren't ready.
