Ophelia's Kiss
Salutations!
Ophelia's Kiss is the brainchild of Shawn David, a longtime Washingtonian who spent some years in Nashville writing songs that draw inspiration from the Beatles and Dylan.
Ophelia's Kiss was born in Tennessee and is primarily me, and whoever I can get to join in at the time. I worked with a couple of talent folks in Nashville and we did some gigs, but it's always changing. Before that there was Embryo and Bethany's Sin and later my brother and I did a lot of shows and recording together in Washington.
I'm retired from touring but there were several venues I enjoyed. The last place I played was at The End in Nashville. It was fun, but I tend to enjoy the studio more.
The Beatles were huge. Especially Lennon. I was a quiet kid, never spoke my mind and the way he wrote so openly, it really appealed to me. I wanted to do that, to write like that. Later on I was influenced by Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel
I have an Ovation acoustic and a Fender telecaster guitar. An Epiphone bass. There's the Boss drum machine, Mackie board, with power speakers. I also use a 16 track Fostex for home demos.
Music has been my great love. I've put a lot of thought and effort into my songs, and it's my hope that the folks who listen to them get a bit of enjoyment or are moved in some way by them.
