One Slack Mind
ONE SLACK MIND is a thick, detuned, body shot to the solar plexus, doubling you over with the gravity of its nasty riffs and original hooks. ONE SLACK MIND, comprised of several DC rock veterans, is steadily touring the mid-Atlantic amassing a fan base and distributing their music to the glassy-eyed masses.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
This band formed from the ashes of the heavy DC/No. VA band, NO SaNER and the Viginia band, SAC. Rich Wilson, frontman/bassist of Jagermeister juggernuats, NO SaNER, continues the frontman duities but hands over the bass to Herman Carter of Virginia metal prodigies, System Demise.
The band is sponsored by Jagermeister and Randy's Rolling Papers.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live all the time. We play from New York to North Carolina, mostly with bands we know. We love playing live, especially when we have no technical difficulties (dig at our guitarist- hehe). One of our cooler moments was at Jaxx(Springfield, VA) when we got a whole crowd of people to tie caution tape around their heads and get into the pit and mosh like mad.
Your musical influences
We like Black Sabbath, Clutch, Tool, Kyuss, Incubus, Meshuggah, etc. I have no idea who you would say we sound like. Listen to the MP3's and email us with your opinion.
What equipment do you use?
Our guitarist plays through 100 watt Sovtek guitar heads(2 of them). He uses a Morley Wah and a Morley Volume pedal. He plays a 1973 Gibson SG Custom.
Anything else?
Any bands within 6 hours of Washington DC that want to trade shows should email me. I love trading shows and we book over 50% of our own bills.
