Memoria Memoria
He slowly reaches out his hand to touch the image of her face as she looks away...this time, forever...
OneOneSeven is a DC-based alterna-rock band. Drawing from the individual member's unique musical backgrounds and influences, OneOneSeven's sound is without boundries - exploring the full range of human emotion.
We are not the saviors of our generation. We're not here to make a profound political statement, save rock and roll, or deliver the masses from the clutches of pop music. We are not misunderstood, misdirected, or before our time. We haven't been given the opportunity to sell out; don't have crippling heroin addictions; nor do we wear tight leather pants that shimmer in the glow of strobe lights that cut through the haze of a fog machine. We are not pimps. We are not hard-core. We're not standing on the outside looking in. We are not featured on a poster that hangs lovingly next to a pin-up of Freddy Prince, Jr. above your little sister's bedframe. We are not featured on the next big summer blockbuster's soundtrack, and we are not coming in live via anything. And we certainly are not the "all singing, all dancing, crap of the world"...we are none of these things...yet!
Band/artist history
This is going to be a lot harder than you think...
Those words have been instrumental in OneOneSevens musical endeavors since their 2001 debut to the DC scene. Whether discussing the drive of the rock quartet, or speaking of the intensity with which they perform on stage, no one can discount the energy that OneOneSeven exudes or the passion that complements their music.
OneOneSevens sound has been described as post-grunge alterna-rock, with an artistic range that spans the full spectrum of human emotions.
23-year-old singer/lyricist Tony DeRosas ability to deliver a vocal-coaster of emotion, from the soft melodic poetry tied to OneOneSevens captivating soundtrack in songs like Memoria, to the crashing vocals of songs like Thoughts Passing Cars, make every track a unique exploration of the heart and mind.
21-year-old flamenco-guitarist, Bruno de Lima Campos, switches seamlessly between gorgeous acoustic rhythms and hard hitting distortions on tracks like Shelter and Awake me - lulling the audiences before unleashing the intensity of the songs chorus.
On bass, 21-year-old Nathan Ondyaks artistic hooks bring up the low end of OneOneSevens sound, driving songs like Only Sin and One More Time.
Rounding out the group is 23-year-old percussionist Kevin Dunnill, whose mathematical approach to music is apparent throughout OneOneSevens repertoire; skillfully incorporating both finesse and complexities to tracks like False Witness and Seven Days.
Continuing to rock crowds from Phillys Arenas Pub to DCs local music hideaway, the Grog and Tankard, OneOneSeven has come a long way on their musical journey. With a sound and style that continue to grow with intensity and a long road of artistic exploration ahead of them, OneOneSeven plans to carve out their place in the world of rock music - bending the boundaries of contemporary alternative rock.
Are you ready for a change?
This is going to be a lot harder than you think...
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We love playing live, and do so as often as possible. I think every show is special in its own way. They're dynamic in that the same show never happens twice...something is always different. There will always be "the show" when Nate first took his clothes off on stage; or "the show" when we received our first real encore. They're all stones along the path of this journey.
Your musical influences
We all have our own unique influences. For me [Tony] it would be Stone Temple Pilots, the Doors, Tool, Mudvayne, the entire early 90's grunge movement, and then pretty much any hard-hitting soulfull rock! I'm sure the other guys would have more to add.
Anything else?
All studio tracks were Produced and Engineered by David Lewin of DC A&R.

Thinking of adding some hip-hop flava to your rock tracks, check out 140 Productions from Shaolin. Wu-Tang Clan Family beat maker/producers. 140 can be heard on Capadonna's movie soundtrack "Iron Fist Pillage". We have produced and have made tracks for Horace Brown "Motown" and members of the Wu-Tang!......140/Toilet ....bridging the gap between rock and rap!
