"On Bail" are a Hip-Hop Group based in Sydney. The group originaly formed in the beggining of 2003. All of the members are a close-nit group of boys residing in Sydneys' Inner-West. The original trio being Chris, Monasa and Fade. While many of thier close friends were in Jail at the time the group formed, they also complete the rest of the group of at least 10 members. The dynamic of the group consists of 3-4 lead vocalists which may replace each other, while Fade Produces the tracks. It also depends on who is not in prison at the time. The group was destined to initiate the rather sleepy Hip-Hop scene within Australia. As the name of the group suggested these guys were not imune to run-ins with the law. They were realistic about the money or lack of it that they would make, especially in the early stages of releasing an album due to the way the industry is in Australia. They were always making money throught a number of criminal ways. The outcome of such activities usually lead to brushes with the law as well as jail time. Unfortunately to this day, as music from the Debut album - "Where Cummin" - of May 2003 was destined to make headlines. That was until one of the members of the group "Monasa" was sentenced to 5 years for Bank Robbery. He will hopefully be released from jail on probation in late 2007. Till then, we have no choice but to wait. Until then though, the group plans to be the first to record a hit album with members still in Jail. We will keep you posted as to the situation with that ambition. In the near future we really hope that a living can be made in the Australian Hip-Hop/RnB industry, without the need for young people to resort to crime.
