O.W. OMEN WOLGANG 9000
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
As a native of Petersburg VA, OMEN WOLFGANG 9000 grew up in a close-knit family atmosphere. With 17 kids and they mama's all living in the same housing projects, they always found something to do. Outside of getting in trouble, they either played ball or got together for talent shows. The talent shows are where O.W. shined. He was a natural. He was bred on music like Michael Jackson, RUN-DMC, RAKIM, you know, the legends. Set out to make a better life for her family, Wolfie's mother joined the army. This allowed O.W. to travel with his mom, and see the world. The advantage of this was; he was able to experience different cultures. By the age of 16, Wolfie was in CA. At this time he was getting serious about his talents and decided to make a career out of music. O.W. signed his first contract by the tender age of 17, with the Looney Bin, an independent Label located in Southern CA. Due to management problems the deal went sour. Shortly after that Wolfie found himself in AZ. While living with his brother in Arizona, O.W. pioneered the rap group MAD LAD, consisting of himself and label mate RISE 1. His brother Tio joined the group in '95. Along with his skills, Tio also brought along with him the media needed to finance the group’s first venture; a full-length album entitled “After the Pain". The project was independently released on the AZ. underground scene. The release was rated #1 consignment ever by SAM GOODY & MUSIC LAND reps throughout southern AZ. The success of this album was the birth R.O.I. INC. As a company R.O.I. INC. has released 4 albums with an accumulative total of album sells reaching the 200,000 mark. Simultaneously with the production of these albums, MAD LAD had an intense schedule of show dates throughout southern AZ., performing with acts such as, ICE CUBE, SCARFACE, The ROOTS, DA BRAT, GENUINE, ROGER&ZAPP, LUNIZ, D-12, WU-TANG CLAN, FABULOUS.
