The origins of Ok Zombie are shrouded in myth. Though the band members themselves scarcely remember how it all started, two things keep coming back around: George Romero and Spam.
Late night zombie film fests seem to be a direct influence on the music of Ok Zombie. True, the music sounds like it should be on the soundtrack for the next George Romero film, but there also seems to a playfulness to it, as if it were coming from a calliope on a carousel where the undead spin round, helpless, stumbling and falling, not aware enough to hold on.
The band's almost animalistic consumpition of Spam leaves room to question whether they themselves might be part zombie. However, Ok Zombie insists that that's simply not true, but rather only enjoy it because it comes with it's own key.
