Oh The Golden State
. . . The home built songs of artist Ryan Sullivan break from country into beautiful noise/sounds and into folk revival . . . the soft, but powerful sounds of beauty. Paradox and wit blanketed in solemn, humble surroundings. . .
. . . Grateful for help from k. hill (Young Antarctica), m. costa (A Costa), and of course Mr.'s Smith & Jones (Cottage Country Sound Programme, Relatively Large Microbes). . .
. . . All members welcome for down home country nature, folk, love, happy, sad. We're all right here. It's always now . . .
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Ryan grew up in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada and moved to Toronto when he was ninteen. He's been playing guitar and writing songs for about eight years. He picked up all the other instruments over the years. He just wishes he could sing better.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
No live performances yet. It is still a home studio project, with shitty equipment.
Your musical influences
Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Fuck, Swearing At Motorists, Freakwater . . .
What equipment do you use?
Anything I can get my hands on and make a noise with.
Anything else?
Anything?
