4SAYKEN: I grew up in the struggle all my life, and got into rap because I was able to relate to the lyrics in there songs. At first it was Eminem and then I got into Tupac. Both of them was able to tell stories I could connect to through there music. It was an escape from all my problems. I would listen to a whole album then come back to reality afterwards. this is when I truly fell in love with music. Over the years I listened to more songs from different people. paying attention to the way they would flow, there lyricsm, there realness (you cant tell stories you havnt lived) and there and rhyme sceme (complexity, technique, conventions) after a while i picked up on those things and practiced them by writing rhymes my first rap wasnt that great...I needed a flow. At 14 I got into a group called 'Bone Thugs N Harmony' They're fast lyrics and melodic flow inspired me. When I wrote my raps again they started flowing naturally fast. At the start of 2008 I met a rapper in waitakere college (T.S. Steven) and challenged him to a rap battle.....he murdered me, afterwards he asked me to join a rap group he was thinking about starting. I accepted. Since then other members have came and gone but me and steven have stayed strong improving our rhymes and ive been focused on mastering the 4 techniques of rap Flow, Lyricsm, Realness, and Rhyme Scheme. Recently I've been working under UTL with shepurd (Daniel) who has helped me out alot with my music. Im going to release a mixtape under UTL third quarter 09. 4-Sayken was suggested to me by sheep which i kept because i think that name is my life story haha. TALENTED STEVEN:
