Malcolm Peoples, better known as Sage Bravo, was born March 15th, 1985 in West Baltimore, MD. Eldest of three siblings, Malcolm has been tuned into music since he could talk. Coming from a upbringing with his mother being addictied to drugs, and his grandmother being spiritual and in the church, Malcolm had no other choice but to gain attention from God given talents, hence, his music. His name speaks for itself. Sage meaning one of wisdom, accentuates his well detailed, knowledge influenced, street saavy lyrics, along with a plethera of different styles and impeccably solid flow. Bravo, coming from his high-school friend, and long time teammate Shandon "Rockey" Smith, was inspired when Sage would spit and it resulted in Rockey saying "Bravo, Bravo!!". Multi-talented, Malcolm learned many of the major aspects of the music business without going to college, or without being taught. He also taught himself the ins and outs of production hardware, software, and terms. Also educated in music theory along with history of great musicians, his influences stretch as far as David Ruffin of the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, and Sam Cooke, to modern day influences such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, Nas, Jay Electronica, and Biggie. He never lacks motivation. Despite falling on hard times due to his mother and stepfather's drug habits, being homeless, to a paralyzed little sister and raising his daughter, only adds more fuel to his fire to success. His extensive knowledge in audio engineering, music theory, audio production, conceptual writing, and vocal arranging skills contribute to making him a well rounded individual, and compelling rising talent. He prides being a student of the craft rather than always in the forefront of being an artist. Look forward to hearing borderline visual music from this undiscovered talent.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
"I do. I'll perform anywhere. And I love it because it gives the fans, or potential fans a chance to feel as if they know you. So therefore, performing has become something I grew to love over time."
Your musical influences
"I have too many influences to name them all by name. But, i'm generally influenced by musicians that ultimately deliver a mutual feeling, or a positive message in their music. I never discriminate on genre. In fact, my music is derived from so many genres, I don't have a sound to compare. I appreciate good music. Period."
What equipment do you use?
"Never particular about equipment. I use any piece to it's maximum potential. But, I did fall in love with the home setup of a Macbook Pro, Avalon vt737 compressor, Shure KSM32, Pro Tools of any format with 003 attached, and a nice killer Waves bundle."
Anything else?
I just want to tell anybody, ANYBODY, that visits my page, and is patient enough to read through my interview, that I really appreciate it, I show love to those that show it. And even if you don't show it, I will. Continue to plant the seeds of success by staying positive, remaining focused on what you do best, and BELIEVING IN YOU! Keep God first, and treat everyone with honor, and respect. To keep up with me, and my day to day, PLEASE, I encourage you to follow me on Twitter @Dr3am3rSage. I'll post new music every week. I promise. Thank you, and God Bless!
