Odyssey of Mind

Odyssey of Mind was born in 2010. While the journey started with a group of friends working together in a reputed organization, life seemed to have a different plan. And while friends moved out in different directions searching for the meaning of life, it was life that seemed to bring them back together, reunited, and stronger this time. The vision was clear, and the objective stronger.

The band comprises of the following members:

Akaash with his mammoth skills in rich sound synthesis, sound engineering and mesmerizing flutes

Sangeeta with her tons of singing experience with her vibrant and vivacious vocals

Mike with his years of music understanding, on guitars, synthesizers and vocals

Udhav with his tranquilizing tabla, accompanied by a set of handpicked percussions for a flavor to blend

Don’t know why, but we are a bit reluctant calling it a “Band”; it’s rather a “Project” that we would love to call it by

It was formed by four friends, as mentioned earlier, who after their frantic office hours wished to calm down with some self-prescribed dose of music. It was in the evenings and on weekends we used to hit the jam-room and play what our minds wished to speak about.

In Mike’ s words, “We didn’t ever have any big thing to do, in mind until one day the Apple guy in Gandhi specs suggested us to “Think Big”. We were never serious, as one of our friends from Europe often used to call this music business a monkey business. So we decided not to be famous with the run of the mills music, but only hope to come up with some good music in due course of our exploration with the ever-interesting sound waves.”

Yes, we do. And in fact, many of our concepts for certain compositions were born while we were on stage.

Everything and everyone we see around influences us in their own way. We are a bit reluctant of naming any specific composer or musician here.

Ah, and yes, Akaash is learning to play the Violin these days. Don’t be surprised to hear him play it live in near future!!

Just that we are a bunch of very simple and down-to-earth people, who are trying to make the world feel better with the power of music. We would think we’ve achieved it, even if one single person loves it and downloads our music from the web. We play and we play it for you and for everyone, cause each of you are very important to us, and we mean it!!
