Well, my name is Damon Swayn and i am a guitarist of 7+ years. This is sort of my solo project using the band name of my band which isn't actually doing anything. I write and record all the music myself (hence why the quality is pretty demo-ish). Basically, i'm a bedroom guitarist writing and recording my own stuff on my computer. hahahahaha
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Not really much to say, i do everything myself. As far as history goes, it all starts with me learning how to actually record music and the development of my song writing abilities as well as my recording knowledge and abilities.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I'll be the first to admit i am a studio musician, i like being able to play with soundscapes and effects and most of it is very hard to recreate live.
Your musical influences
Anything i can get my hands on. Whether it be new stuff i am finding everyday or old 1920's jazz stuff. I'm always on the look out for new music which in turn provides new inspiration. Some of my biggest inspirations are dream theater, john petrucci's solo work, periphery/bulb, nevermore, steve vai, joe satriani, frank gambale, stevie ray vaughan. The list goes on and on.
What equipment do you use?
I'm a massive gear head so lets get to it.
I use 3 guitars, an Ibanez UV777BK for 7 string stuff, a Jackson DKMG for standard 6 string stuff and a Cort KX1Q for any other alternate tuning 6 string material. I run these guitars through a peavey JSX 212 combo, i love the versatility of the thing. And i stand by peavey to the death. In the fx loop i have a Vox Tonelab LE and i sometimes run a Vox 847 wah in front of the amp. Even if i am not Endorsed by Vox, i will advertise them everywhere.
Strings i use, and have always used D'Addario, and for picks i use Dunlop Jazz III's.
For recording, i'm a tone freak so i have multiple amp sim VST's installed on my computer, recently i have been going back to basics with pod farm. I use guitar pro as my midi editor for my drums and bass and program both in Guitar Pro, then i export the midi file into cubase and run them through EZDRUMMER/drumkit from hell VST as well as cubases in built bass VST. Then record my guitars over that.
